Podosmart – Gait and Running analysis

by | May 31, 2022 | Gait Analysis | 0 comments

These are a nifty tool that we use around the clinic to assess our patient’s different mobility issues. It quantifies walking and running issues and allows us to deliver an individual treatment program tailored to our patient,

It is a small insole that is placed inside your shoe, which gives us feedback about both your feet. This information is then captured by the podostation, and the results are displayed onto our screen.

Information obtained are things like the angle your ankle is sitting in; the propulsion rate; your speed and contact time. Whilst it may not seem like they are relevant, they help us make a more dynamic, educated decision about your treatment options.

The insoles help complete our data collection for our biomechanical assessment, generally video gait analysis and pressure gait analysis completes our investigations required (biomechanical) which can thereafter lead to an exercise or rehabilitation program and/or a prescription orthoses. If you feel like you are walking a bit funny, or are experiencing some discomfort after a bit of sport or a walk, why not book an msk appointment. This way, together, we can decide if anything further is required?
