Loved by Our Customers

Louise Brehmer

“I went to see Aadila at ProHealth Podiatry when I was experiencing pain in my foot and heel from plantar fasciitis and tendinitis. She was warm and welcoming, advised me on which stretches to do to strengthen my feet, and when I needed further support she was able to include laser therapy and shock wave therapy. I am so impressed with her service I will happily recommend her to anyone who is experiencing foot pain. The prices of her treatments are very reasonable too. If you’re looking for a Podiatrist, go to ProHealth and see Aadila. You won’t be sorry. She knows her stuff.”

Brad H

“I visited Aadila after developing foot pain.  She diagnosed my issue quickly and suggested laser therapy to ease the discomfort.  Within hours it was much improved and by the next day the pain had disappeared completely.  We then worked through some preventative measures to avoid it happening again.  Highly recommended!”

From helping individuals achieve a healthier lifestyle through exercising and eating well, to diagnosing acute foot pain, and preventing sports-related injuries in athletes, we aim to offer a personalised experience to each and every patient that trusts us with their feet.

The following are some of the most common conditions we treat at our Mount Gravatt centre, but don’t be fooled! Explore a more extensive list of conditions we treat at ProHealth Podiatry Mount Gravatt here.

Ankle Pain Solutions

Ankle pain can be debilitating, impacting your daily life and activities. It is commonly referred to as Achilles’ tendonitis/inflammation and experienced at the back of the foot or heel along the course of the tendon that attaches the calf to the heel bone. Symptoms generally associated with this type of ankle issue include swelling or pain, tightness in the calves, reduced range of motion when the foot is flexing or increase in temperature at the area of pain.

Our skilled podiatrists will conduct a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis and offer a personalised treatment plan to effectively diagnose and address the root of the problem. Common ankle pain treatments include stretching exercises, taping, modification, Level Laser Therapy, Prolotherapy, and anti-inflammatory mineral salts. We are proud to offer a comprehensive and compassionate approach to alleviate your ankle pain, allowing you to regain your mobility and enjoy life to the fullest again.

Sports Podiatry: Helping Athletes Perform Their Best

Sports podiatry is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of lower limb conditions induced by sport-specific activity. This form of foot care can be proactive or reactive.

Proactive or preventative sports podiatry services involve decreasing the risk of injury by prescribing the athlete with supportive footwear, guiding them through strengthening routines, and conducting regular check-ups to ensure they can maintain peak physical condition. Reactive sports podiatry involves diagnosing and treating existing foot, ankle, knee, and leg injuries, and minimising the risk of further injury or long-term damage. Overall, this form of podiatry aims to enhance performance so athletes can maintain peak physical condition and reach their full potential.

Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes often affects the feet, which is why we’re so passionate about Diabetic foot care and Diabetes education here at ProHealth Podiatry Mount Gravatt. Our qualified podiatrists will classify your feet as low, moderate, or high risk by conducting various assessments. This may include a vascular test by feel/doppler or ABI, a check of your skin and temperature, a joint range and quality of motion test, a footwear assessment, and a neurological assessment to check vibration, touch and sense in space.

To practice diabetic foot care, it is recommended to inspect, wash and dry feet daily, moisturise feet but not between toes, cut toenails carefully, avoid walking barefoot, and protect feet with appropriate socks and shoes. Annual or more regular check-ups with a specialised podiatrist are vital for individuals with diabetes to identify potential complications in a timely manner and maintain healthy feet.

Heel Pain Relief and Plantar Fasciitis Treatment

Heel pain is a common complaint that can stem from various sources, such as overuse, trauma, or medical conditions like arthritis. Plantar fasciitis is similarly characterised by pain in the heel and bottom of the foot, but is related to inflammation of the plantar fascia, a band of tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes.

Depending on the source of the pain, our dedicated team of skilled podiatrists will diagnose the root of the problem and determine the most effective course of treatment. The patient’s treatment options generally include rest, stretching, ice packs, painkillers, orthotic devices, Shockwave Therapy, strapping, cortisone injections, and, in some cases, surgery. Preventative measures like wearing supportive shoes, incorporating regular stretching into your routine, limiting activities that put excessive strain on your feet, and maintaining a healthy body weight are also very important.

Orthotic Therapy: Enhancing Comfort and Function

Orthotics are specialized insoles that provide support to the feet and enhance foot posture. They serve as shock absorbers, alleviating pressure and strain from tender areas in the foot and ankle, which can help prevent foot deformity or limit its progression, ensure the foot is correctly positioned within the shoe, and enhance the overall motion of the foot and lower leg.

Whether you’re experiencing discomfort from a foot deformity or simply seeking additional support for your feet, orthotics can provide the relief and stability you need, allowing you to enjoy a more comfortable and active life. They can be a game changer for people in pain.

At ProHealth Podiatry Mount Gravatt, we are proud to provide a range of different, tailor-made insoles and orthotics for our patients at different price points. We custom make our orthotic insoles using a 3D printer lab as well as a plaster cast.

It is also advisable to consult a podiatrist if you have diabetes, circulation issues, underlying medical conditions affecting your feet, or are experiencing numbness, tingling, burning sensation, or swelling in your feet.

How long has ProHealth Podiatry been practicing?

Aadila Dada, our founder and head podiatrist, has been practising podiatry services for 15 years in both public and private practice.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist in Queensland?

No, you do not need a referral to see a Podiatrist in Queensland. You can book an appointment online or at our Mount Gravatt centre for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of your pain without seeing your GP first.

Does Medicare cover podiatry in Queensland?

Medicare will cover part of your podiatry treatment if you qualify and have a referral from your GP, however, there will be a gap payment.

Full payment is required at the time of the consult, thereafter a claim is lodged through Medicare on your behalf, and then Medicare then rebates you.

What do I wear to a podiatry appointment?

We recommended wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your feet and ankles, such as loose-fitting pants or shorts that can be easily rolled up or removed, and shoes that are easy to take off and put on.
