Orthotic Therapy
Orthotics can be a game changer for people in pain.
Here at ProHealth Podiatry we try and provide a range of different insoles and orthotics for our patients at different price points as a tailoring to our patient’s needs.
We custom make orthotic insoles by using a 3D printer lab as well as a plaster cast.
Orthotic insoles are used by patients as part of their treatment plan to address certain foot pathologies causing discomfort or pain. A lot of things are taken into consideration such as activity level, presenting pain, height and weight of the patient, footwear as well as tone and strength in your muscles.
Please note that customised orthotics are not something that can be purchased from a pharmacy or a show store, they are modified to accommodate foot deformities, help your gait pattern, provide support to the bony structures in your feet as well as reduce the incidence of further injury. They have also been known to help reduce ankle, knee and lower back pain.
All that is required from you is the initial step of booking in your appointment thereafter you are assessed to see if this treatment option is for you and what type of device would best suit your pathology and lifestyle.
Pathologies commonly requesting orthotics are for arthritis, back pain, bunions, bursitis, ankle instability, flat feet, diabetes, pigeon toes or in toeing gait patterns, hammer toes, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis.
